Senior Rare Book Conservator
Kim O’Donnell’s bookbinding career began in 1982 producing fine press editions for artists. Under the five year tutelage of Gray Parrot, the Western Massachusetts location also provided opportunities for Kim to work and study with other bookbinders, letterpress printers and artists. The following fifteen years she maintained a private practice for small edition design bindings, restoration, and teaching workshops in all aspects of bookbinding. During this time, her work in collaboration with contemporary artists was shown at the New York Museum of Modern Art and other galleries in the United States as well as internationally.
In 2002 Kim graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Anthropology and pursued graduate work in Museum Studies at Middle Tennessee State University.
